Quilts, quilts, and more quilts.

For those who actually glance at this blog every once in a while will notice that I haven't written in a long time. This is because I have been working on my newest....love/hate relationship: quilts. In the past year or so I have made seven. I have fallen in love with Buggy Barn Quilt patterns. They are as easy as quilts get and they actually look like something, not just random shapes. This is the one I did for Cloie when she graduates from a crib.

This is the pillowcase that goes with it. It shows the flowers a little better too.

Here is the one I made for Jacob for Christmas. He refuses to let me take it off his bed.
The pattern said the brown stripe is meant to look like a dirt road. I messed up/got creative and made each road different.

So, for those who have been wondering where I have been for month, the answer is I have been stuck behind a sewing machine. Hopefully I get better at posting on a regular basis.

explanation on long break

I know I haven't posted in a while. Between, kids, Scott's new job, and crafts I just haven't been able to find the time.

I have finished some projects though. I got my mother-in-law's quilt finished and also Cloie's bed set for when she gets out of a crib. I am currently thinking of making a diaper bag. If anyone has a good pattern/idea for one, I'm all ears.

Cloie's Birthday

Well, we made it through Cloie's birthday party. She was such a good little girl for not having a clue about what was going on. We were planning on having a hotdog roast with family. That is, until the weather turned cold. We ended up having it inside. I made her cake (or should I say, cakes. One to eat and one for her to smash )the day before, and I must say, it turned out better than I thought. I got the cake idea from here:
